This Suzu grey/black lacquer tray by Japanese woodworker Tomoaki Nakano is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
First this piece is hand crafted before being sanded and polished. The next stage is the application of lacquer that is applied to the exterior of the vessel. Tomoaki focuses on applying thin layers leading up to a final thick layer to give a beautiful smooth finish.
The black and grey interior is very striking. Certainly one of a kind object that would make the perfect gift.
